If your child is at least 7 years old, it is recommended that they visit an orthodontist for a consultation. Because their jaw and teeth are continuing to develop, bite misalignment and/or tooth impaction can occur, resulting in the need for more complex and serious procedures in the future (i.e., tooth extraction, jaw surgery).
