During your regular appointment, your dentist confirms you have a severely decayed tooth that will require treatment. Unexcited by this information, you inquire as to how necessary it is to have a dental crown placed right now. With the holidays quickly approaching and only weeks left in 2020, you may be wondering why you shouldn’t just wait until 2021 to take care of your smile. Before falling victim to this mindset, a dentist in Bergenfield shares why it is far more beneficial for you to undergo treatment now instead of waiting until the new year.

Local Dental Office to provide free services on Saturday, November 14th, 2020

November 2, 2020

Filed under: Uncategorized — tntadmin @ 4:29 pm

Dentists Dr. Mariliza Lacap, her husband Dr. Darren Tong, as well as the rest of their smile team, will be providing free dentistry for members of the community who do not have the means to pay for regular dental care.

This is an annual initiative they have been taking as a way of paying it forward to the Bergenfield community, a town their office has been servicing for over 30 years. Washington Dental Associates is one of the few dental offices in the Bergen County area that holds a program like this. “It’s heartbreaking to see a person’s smile destroyed by severe tooth decay,” said Dr.Tong.  “Imagine not being able to eat, sleep or suffer through work because you have a mouthful of toothaches.”

The event will be on an appointment reservation basis beginning at 9:30am and running until 1:00pm. Each person will be able to receive one free filling, extraction, or dental cleaning. Dr. Lacap said, “Our entire team is excited to be able to give much needed care to those who cannot afford the treatment.  As we are all experiencing the consequences of COVID-19 and the lockdown, many people have been hit hard financially.  Many people have lost their jobs and businesses have shut down.  We felt we wanted to bring something positive to the community.  Free dentistry and free food donations.  Covid will not stop us paying it forward and celebrating life and paying it forward.”

“Our goal for the day is simple – make people smile. Believe me, the smiles and thanks we receive from all the people we treat make the hard work one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives.” said Dr. Tong. If you or anyone else you know severely needs dental work, please let them know about this opportunity. Special thanks and appreciation goes to all of the Bergenfield local businesses and groups that have agreed to help make this event a success.

If you are a local business and would like to donate some small gifts for the event, please contact Jessica Warren at jwarren.smilemore@gmail.com. To learn more about the event, visit www.WashingtonDentalNJ.com and go to the bottom of the page under “Giving Back & Getting Involved”. The Day of Free Dentistry will be taking place at Washington Dental Associates, 19 Legion Drive, in Bergenfield.  Due to covid restrictions and in adherence to CDC guidelines, the free dentistry is by appointment only.  Please call 201-384-2425 to schedule an appointment.
